Eleven Vietnamese universities have been listed in the 2022 QS Asian University Rankings, produced by the Quacquarelli Symonds higher education marketing company in the UK. Several Vietnamese universities have improved their rankings year to year and DTU rose from the 351-400 group to 210th.

The State Council of Professorial Titles announced its 2021 list of accepted scientific journals, with the DTU Journal of Science & Technology now being recognized in two additional fields which can now be counted to accumulate extra publication points. Two DTU students won second prizes at the "Speaking Korean to celebrate Hangul Day" contest, organized by the Consulate General of South Korea in Danang.
